A visit from Maeve Foreman of Mud Island Community Garden.

Yesterday the community garden and allotments course group had a visit from guest speaker Maeve Foreman from Mud Island Community Garden in Dublin. Mud Island was established in 2009 by a group of 10 community members with the hope of creating a space for joy, creation, and community. Over ten years later, the garden is now a cultural hub, hosting all kinds of events for the public, including music concerts, experimental performances, educational workshops and more. It now has over 400 members, a committee, and multiple working groups for new members who work in different garden departments from infrastructure to events.

Maeve's visit was truly inspirational. It gave us a brilliant insight into what can be achieved if you stick with your goals. Rome wasn't built in a day!
