Welcome to Innovating Communities in County Monaghan

Welcome to Innovating Communities in County Monaghan - where the sky is the limit!

We, at Monaghan Integrated Development CLG, are excited to lead this project and join our 6 neighbour counties Cavan, Louth, Leitrim, Donegal and Sligo, to deliver Design Thinking training and processes to our communities and their local challenges.

We have partnered with Icecream Architecture to deliver this project along with Combilift who have financially supported the delivery and set up of our two LEADER Idea Centres (spaces to be confirmed). We are ambitious with what we can achieve and believe that Monaghan can combat the uncertainty of Brexit and COVID19 while leading the delivery of Innovative Thinking in the county and border region.

Already, we are proud of the innovation in Monaghan community projects such as the Sliagh Beagh Community Hotel, LINC (Linking Ireland's New Communities), CoH-Sync (Community Health Sync Project) plus much more, along with innovative business practices and production by Combilift.

We are building a strong challenge bank on the website with themes and challenges such as Climate Transition, Rural Attractiveness, Digital Inclusion, and Improved accessibility for people with disabilities and more, posted so far. But we want to hear more from YOU.

If you, your community group or business are experiencing a challenge and would like to create solutions through Design Thinking then;
  • Register on the website at www.innovating.ie/join
  • Log your challenge and or interact (‘like’ and comment) with existing ones at www.innovating.ie/ideas
  • Share the project with other groups or individuals that would benefit from the project

The Innovating Communities project will enable local Monaghan people to lead change in their area so get involved! And please keep in touch and up to date with us by following Innovating Communities and Monaghan Integrated Development. To chat more about the project with MID, contact Collette cmcentee@midl.ie / 087 176 1732
