Thank you both for your comments. I believe the planning authorities& the builders should agree to build the housing developments that we need. i.e small private dwellings so older people can downsize in comfort to allow families who need the space, to buy the larger houses. I am sure if a study was done on the population it would show the age demographic to be getting older, so say in the next 10 years, if they identified the number of older people looking for homes pref in or near towns, the correct houses could be built now,
Any other thoughts on how to attract goof quality industry to our county ?
Also not sure what the next steps are in this Innovating Community process ! Do you know ?

Mixed sizes in that 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedrooms on the same development. so older people can be part of a mixed community. interspersed with shops, community meeting areas, playgrounds, and allotment-style gardens.

Social Housing units also, in mixed sizes, with communal greens and gardens, so young people can have proper housing without having to mortgage themselves and their parents to the pin of their collars, just to get a basic house! Homes date! the house you needed to raise your family in is not the house you want to be maintaining in your later years.

Annmarie, definitely but it is very, very difficult. Again we need more Govt incentives and a supply of affordable homes for people to live in.
