Clinics/hubs for Volunteer led groups to navigate a range of strategic issues to help them thrive

There are a lot of governance issues for groups to contend with, and it can be challenging to find appropriate support when it is needed. While people can access training – often at the point in time when they have a challenge or question it can be hard to know where to go. Would there be a benefit in a clinic type arrangement or physical hub or ongoing mentoring panel. There are lots of accessible supports for SME’s or start ups. Is there a similar model for Not for Profits, or is there some other solution that could be available on an ongoing basis?

ongoing/updating supports around governance is a must, networking like that which is facilitated by Leitrim Development Company via their Leitrim Online Community Platform, has gotten us some good speakers and advisors on subjects like online funding, Covid19 compliance training, and Ruralisation by Dr. Maura Farrell from NUIG Regeneration is in our own hands.

Something like this has been tried by Monaghan Integrated Development. A number of staff were trained on the Charities Regulator Governance Code to provide ongoing support for local groups working toward compliance with the code. A number of groups have made some progress. This was set up as one off training wasn't enough, groups need the ongoing support over a long period of time.
