About the Course

Louth

Moving house is considered one of the most stressful life events, and settling into a new neighbourhood during a global pandemic and national lockdown isn't easy. COVID 19 has highlighted many of the inequalities that existed pre-COVID 19 - for example, the digital divide that is acutely felt by those who experience social isolation.

This course will focus on combatting loneliness, social isolation, and the digital divide for marginalised communities as we move towards recovery from the impact of COVID on our economic and social life. The benefits will enhance education, health and wellbeing and other opportunities for marginalised individuals / communities.

Innovating Communities courses are led by Design Thinking experts and community volunteer 'co-trainers' to help training teams tackle projects like these.

Our Design Thinking-led training teaches valuable skills that can be used to create people-centred, innovative plans in response to challenges or opportunities like the one above. You will also have access to 1-on-1 mentoring from your trainer and co-trainer. Co-trainers are volunteers from your county with knowledge and/or experience in community action.

This 21-hour Sprint Course consists of high-impact learning and practical activities that will boost the Team's confidence in using these skills and taking action together. You and your Team will be expected to commit to weekly training sessions. The team will also conduct community research and outreach during various stages of the course, between sessions.
